Any of the vendors on the home page should be able to help you out.  :dancing_2:

It really depends on the parts you are looking for. If they are slot parts, the vendors listed on the main site (I'm one of them...), if it's odd chips you are looking for, give me a PM with a list and I'll see what I can do. I have a huge amount of ICs that aren't listed in my site.

If you're looking for arcade parts it just depends on what you are needing. There are a few places I like to buy from that I can pass along - just really depends on what you are looking for.

Not sure if this is where I need to be.......NLG has helped me lots over the past year with some IGT reel slots.........I recently did a cga/vga conversion on a non working Golden Tee '98 and it went great !!..........I am now tackling a Konami Racing Force stand up arcade machine...........Came to me with a broken CRT neck, so I have removed those components and am switching to vga LCD monitor with GBS 8200 pcb convert........conversion is done but I have several problems upon powering up the unit.......has sound, wants me to insert coins, select course, etc...HOWEVER, the screen was stuck on rom/ram check list and was blurry.......I did the hold the pcb test button while turning on and got past rom list and it still wants me to insert, select , etc but the graphics are terrible, almost non existent and I see no visual moving taking place but sounds are coming thru like I am racing.................the motherboard & sub board both look clean and in great shape.......have gone thru the GBS 8200 programming stuff like on my other conversions with no impact on graphics...................because it was non working and because I have upgraded to vga with pcb and LCD I can't be certain if errors lie with original equipment or conversion equipment...............somewhat newbie scratching head

Hello, I hope this is the right topic to ask for some help?
I'm trying to fix a World Cup '90 which has a color problem. If I look at the test screen, there is a shade missing in each color. It seems there is one bit missing, am I right?
Where do I start to look to get this fixed?

If I turn up the brightness really high, I see three shades starting on the right, then there is a gap, then there are 11 more shades.

Here is a picture of the test screen:

Check from the Pallette RAM out to the JAMMA edge where the video signals exit the board. Could be a bad RAM, bad latch, bad resistor in the DAC circuit, etc...

Fixed a video poker for another shop and they decided to relocate the speaker.

Mounted it not more then 4 inches from the monitor then couldn't figure out why the tube always had a rainbow of colors on the side the speaker was on.

They didn't have a degause coil so explained how you can degause a picture tube by plugging in a AC powered electric drill and holding it sideways against the tube, rotate, then pull away slowly while the drill was on.

You must be very specific when you tell a customer to do this.

One customer was pointing the drill at the screen with a drill still in the bit.

Another customer thought that because the DC motor rechargeable drill was charged via a AC cord that it was a AC drill and really magnatized her screen.
Let them that don't want any, have memories of not getting any.

ROFL!

They never played with magnets near the TV when they were kids! :)

Yes, customers do silly things, unfortunately so do other repair people. I've had some tragic boards come through the shop over the years and decided to finally put a thread up about it.

I have lately been playing with a 60 in 1 Jamma board.
There are all sorts of Jamma Harness adapters that convert to the edge cards of the orginal games.
You can also set the software based dip switches to restrict the board to just the game or games you want.
Now my question: For the cost of the Jamma board being $39 (or less) why repair these older games ? - is it a labor of love ?
If you can't afford to lose you can't afford to win.

Those games don't play 100% the same as the original. They slow down in wrong places, sound is not the same, etc... Plus, you cannot put those bootleg games out on location as they are not licensed or otherwise authorized versions of the games.

I repair a lot of boards for collectors and route operators. The 60-in-1 are for people who are neither.

I have a LOL2 knockoff board that is giving the wrong credit. You can put a $20 in and it will give different amounts every time. $24,$23,$18, even $1 for a $20. Ive checked the menu settings and everything seem to be set right. Could this be a faulty board? The game worked fine for a while then this issue occurred.

Lol2 is a Life if Luxury 2, 20 liner. I may be calling it a knock off but it may be named something else, but it is a life of luxury 2 game.
