Replacement NIMH BATTERY?

(1/2) > >>

61Wally:
A Great day to ALL. On My slot machine board has the Varta 3.6V/80mah battery. I have a case of 3.6V/600 mah 2/3AA battery packs. I was wondering if Anyone knows if the charging circuit on the board can handle the additional charging current/time with doing Any damage to the boards circuitry?

sixcardmark:
Just remove it, varta is not needed for home use. EDIT: just noticed this is a universal, I know nothing about them.  :banghead:

Badbaud:
Remove the 4.7K 1/2W resistor near the battery. It is the charging circuit. Then you can put in A NiMh battery to power the RAM.

61Wally:
Ok I see that resistor, by removing it does that allow a larger charging current? Or What is the purpose in removing it? The board currently has a 3.6 VDC NIMH battery in it.

Badbaud:
Switch to a LiIon battery, the one you are using tends to leak and eat traces.
The LiIon battery does not need a charging circuit to power the RAM chip.
