Model: Double Dragon
Symptom: Incorrect colors

This board was tough to track down as it was missing signals, yet none were missing. Replaced IC67. Only its lower 4 bits were in use and they were tied to the lower four bits of IC68 which was why it was hard to track down. They were both Fujitsu 74LS245 ICs so they were both replaced.

JAMMA harness was connected backwards and the board smoked near the connector.

Replaced 2 combination capacitor/resistor SIPs in the input circuit and tested. Replaced a 100uf cap on the back corner of the board that had one of its legs half ripped out. Retested.

Model: Double Dragon II
Symptom: Garbled graphics. Game crashes.

Board had corrosion issues in the sockets.

Replaced the 4 50-pin board interconnects and the 2 cables. Replaced 12 sockets on the CPU board and cleaned all the ICs before reinsertion. Did the same with 8 ICs on the video PCB. Board booted but the graphics for "The Revenge" was corrupt and in attract mode the characters were garbled. Address line A11 was stuck high on the graphics ROMs. Replaced a bad 74LS273 IC to fix that. During attract mode one of the enemy characters was corrupt. Replaced bad mask ROM on the video PCB and tested. Replaced four physically damaged capacitors and retested.
