VFD says Welcome to Bally Gaming Amusement Only
No info on message centre no LEDs at all so i cant even enter test mode
Have no done a safe ram clear, have no chips.I do have the Proslot6000 manuals.
Can somebody help me out?

How is your battery voltage? Is jumper 20 in place, if not the battery is disconnected.
There are some new full clear chips out there where all you do is turn on DSW1 #8 to clear and leave the chips in.
Makes clearing much easier.
Call Larry and he can walk you through it. 702-363-9998

Post a pic of outside front door with power on.

The problem here is the blinking red light on mpu. Did you just get this machine and was it working when you got it? There are several possibilities of the cause. Bad mpu, not properly seated mpu, bad, missing or not properly installed chips or the power supply. Trying to doing a safe ram clear is pointless until you get the board to boot up and get some sort of error message in the left display. Scott

Received the Slot in this condition, been asked to repair it
Batt 6.3
All chips have been removed from their sockets leads cleaned, sockets cleaned
I will post pic of the front door
In the progressive led window I do see boot up messages , but nothing in the message centre on the door
Thanks
Rob

Rob, the progressive is a separate entity and boots independently. The c1 is saying that it is not communicating with machine and it can't until it boots up. If you need someone to test your board lmk, I have a few machines to test it in. Scott

I forgot to mention that you need to check the pins where the mpu plugs into the backplane. 1 bent pin on mpu will really mess it up.
-
Pins look good
Here is a pic of the front door
Scott whats your location?
-
Just outside of Erie,Pa.
-
J20 is in place, backplane voltage test points are all good( on the left side bottom)
Not sure how much it will cost to ship this board Scott?
anything else I can do or look for.
I see mpus available on Ebay for the S6000

New discovery , If i remove the mpu and power up , the message centre is alive!!!! But with all EEEE EEEE
I am guessing the MPU is bad ?
-
If the battery reads 3.6VDC and someone previously changed it before you bought it then the board will NEVER come up until you do a RAM clear procedure with RAM clear chips.
Step one in trouble shooting on a 6000 boards is to clear the RAM.
-
OK, I can purchase clear ram chips and go from there, This machine was purchased in this condition and sat for months in someones garage
-
Sorry , where do I get Safe Clear ram chips?
-
Safe Clear Ram leave ins have been ordered (jjslots)
Thanks Ill keep you posted
-
There is a sticky somewhere on this site on how to do a clear on a 6000 board.
-
Hey Guys, I received the the Leave in Safe Ram clear chips today, I have installed them and did the switch 8 on, press and hold psedo and test on power up , turn off flip sw8 back off , power up , Nothing happened Same red blink every second, no reel dance!
Did I miss something?
-
Still nothing in the message centre
If i remove the mpu and power up I get "8888""8888" on the MC
-
Did you hold the buttons in until you saw CHC then CLC on the display?
-
I guess that depends, how long do I hold it for?
-
until you see the CHC CLC
-
OK, I will attempt again, But really ! How long am I expecting to hold those buttons?
30 sec? a minute?
-
I have held the buttons for upto a minute , those little switches sure dig into your finger tips.
No ch or cl in the message center
Nothing at all
-
The CHC should show up after a few seconds and then when it has completed its clear clc. It should take no more than 30 seconds total. There is an issue with your board, I am not going to say its the board because it could be a bad chip. Good Luck Scott

Call Larry 702-363-9998 to send it in and get it fixed. We are dealing with another board now from another customer where a previous owner had put the game chips in backwards and fried them then sold the machine as is. Finding older bonus spin chips has been a two month search but we keep trying.

since this did not work , what is my next option?
try to find someone close to me , for parts to swap?
