Title: New Ads Popping Up
Post by: cowboygames on July 24, 2016, 06:21:46 AM
I've noticed in the last couple days on Phoenix Craigslist that a lot of scam ads for really nice, really cheap cars are being posted with a gmail address listed for text replies. Has anybody noticed this happening in other areas? Anybody tried replying to the listed gmail address?
I know it's a scam somehow, but I'm not replying to any gmail address to find out how it works, I just mark the ads as prohibited and move on. Any feedback is much appreciated. Craigslist is known for scam buyers, but for me anyway, scam sellers or baiting someone into replying to an email address is a new one. Thanks for reading,

Cowboy

Seen the same here.
On our local ads they try to get you to subscribe to a "Government and Federal" repossession auction list.

SCAM ALL THE WAY.

It's not just in the Auto section, but all over Craigslist. They are fishing for Email addresses I'm guessing to sell to Spammers or to try to hack your account. They are easy to spot like you said with deals too good to be true.
