Title: v7200 monitor issue
Post by: puckhead on August 08, 2016, 11:00:37 AM
i have a v7200 with a monitor issue. the screen is shunted to the left, and there is a black bar running down the side of the screen.  its a tatug monitor. i was able to clear the ram and set up a lot of functions, but not fully because of the screen.  i took the monitor to a repair guy, he hooked it up to text equipment and things the monitor is OK.  he was able to get some test patterns, but he didnt know the frequency it needed, blah blah blah.  in some of his text screens i saw the black bar, and some i didnt.  i still suspect the monitor, but what do i know :).   anyone ever seen a pic like this?  should i send out the chassis for testing?  the bill acceptor light up and takes bills, but spits them back. coin accept doesnt work.  optics are good, when i open the door an alarm sounds.

thanks

Yes!  On the CRT controller board below the CRT neck, there are vertical and horizontal adjusters.  If memory serves me, playing with the two adjusters on the left (screen face you) will fix this problem.  Be careful and use an insulted glove and screwdriver.  I made a 5-foot Molex male to female/pin to pin CRT extension cable to work with the CRT on a bench instead of blindly squeezing my arm between the chassis and the monitor housing.
