Title: Bonus game frequency vs hold percentage
Post by: Slotski on April 12, 2017, 09:19:38 PM
Wondering if with a higher pay out percentage you get less bonus games. I have a V32 Playboy Platimum set at 96% and it seems like it takes forever to get a bonus game. At a local casino which I believe is set more like 92% it seems like the bonus games come up more often. Any opinions or does anyone know if the game program may be setup to work like this. More smaller wins and less bonus games at a higher percentage and more bonus games but less smaller wins at a lower percentage?

The payout percentage includes both bonus payouts as well as regular wins, and the relation between the 2 could theoretically change depending on the payout setting.   I would think however that the game designers would like to keep bonus game frequency pretty similar for all pay tables to preserve playability, they need to make sure the gameplay still feels palatable to the player.  So maybe the bonus games happen just as often, but pay less, or the non-bonus wins pay less.  They could also just decrease the frequency of the big jackpots.  What you describe could be possible, but without having a copy of the PAR sheet I'm not sure that your question can be answered for sure.  Keep in mind short term variance as well though.  What you have been experiencing at home vs the casino could just be a fluke.

On most of these Bally free games bonus, the difference in bonus frequency is statistically insignificant.  You can't really tell the difference.  You may just be on a bad streak at home.

Thanks to both of you for your views and input. I think I'll just play it for the fun of it like I should and not worry about the bonus frequency. Mayby it will even out over time.
