Pretty sure I used a pair of spanner wrenches to tighten the threaded portion to the reel plate.

It's been a while since I had my machine apart. Originally I was going to replace the reel discs but decided to just keep the original beat up symbols intact.  I aligned the jackpots on all reels and set the winning holes with those in alignment.

If the assembly isn't tight, the symbols will float and lose their index. (https://newlifegames.com/nlg/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ramegoom.com%2Fjohn%2Flittle_duke%2Flittle_duke_restoration%2Fduke_reels-800.jpg&hash=7cf29a207fb67404204d9586502ab8e55cd8cc12)

i was thinking the same thing, line up the jackpots.  ill do that and see what happens.  i was hoping there would be a dimple, or mark to use.

Ramegoom,
Your right on the money, for alignment of new strips for the little duke.
