Title: battery question
Post by: brianfink on October 11, 2017, 12:37:26 PM
I just got a bally alfa with the 1mg board. I was cleaning it up a bit and noticed there is no battery on the back plane board. The machine seems to work fine but I guess I should probably replace it. It looks like probably a 2032 but I'm not shore. And what is that battery for anyway.

Once you remove the battery it will have to be reprogrammed. If you want to do that then replace it or just wait until it has to be done. They are 2032s. NVRAM

It's not the nvram it's on the board that sits on the back wall of the machine that the MPU and all the peripherals are plugged into. And it is just an empty battery holder with no battery in it at all. But the machine seems to work fine without it.

That's weird.  You should be getting a tilt if that battery is not there.
