Title: Gottlieb Kings & Queens - Bumpers stuck on Lit option
Post by: SummitTrouble on November 12, 2017, 09:22:10 AM
I just bought a 1965 Kings & Queens Gottlieb pinball, and the bumpers are stuck on "10 Points when Lit" function, and the Match generator is stuck on "8". The game is no fun with the bumpers lit for 10 points all the time, to easy to score, and the 4 special holes do not light properly, due to no 1 point scores on bumpers. Any ideas how to correct this problem? Yeah, had the game 2 days, and already a problem, Machine is supposedly "Restored". I hope it's a simple fix?

Sound like you have one or more sets of contact are not working.. If you bought the game as restored and working, then I would be contacting the seller.. Those old EM pinball can be fun to play, but they do need regular maintenance..

I found the 0-9 point unit bracket loose, so coil plunger was jammed. I re-set the screw and added another screw that was missing on top of the bracket. The games normal again, the bumoers alternate between 1 and 10 points and the match function is working again. I cleaned and inspected the rest of the score relays and points. Issue resolved.

cloth sheathing is ok where it counts, to go through the entire machine to replace would be a nightmare, but I have seen it done, so long as the wrapped harnesses are good, not going to worry about it, I can test for continuity if that issue should raise it's ugly face! My motto is "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".
