I have an Astro magic bomb 8 liner board here .... here's the issue .... being it's a bin laden version I wanted to dump and have a copy of the SW .... after copying the roms now the game won't boot just says "rom error" on the screen ....what the hell ???

Are we talking about the same board you took the eproms out of ? If not, the version software is specific to the board, meaning you cannot upgrade the software on a non bin laden board to a bin laden. Let me know.

Same board same roms ...... I didn't try to upgrade this one all I did was pull the roms to dump them ...... I did a little poking around after I put this thread up and found the crystal on it has no pulse .....it's an 80 mhz I don't have anything close to that here ..... closest I have is 48..... i have one coming .... pretty sure that's my issue .... board was dropped that coulda fractured it .. we will see ...... but as far as roms they are the roms from that board back into that board

changed the crystal.... still get rom .error...... beginning to wonder if my burner corrupted the rom when i dumped the bins
