Question about igt s , game seems to be working fine ,no errors but when spin sometimes 3 matches get no credit and odd matches get credits . never played slots until I bought a fixer upper, so maybe Im doing something wrong. is it a problem with reels. or the system need clearing ?

Strips could be on wrong reels, reel/s could have slipped out of position, could be wrong reel chip for reels.
which game is it? Which sp and ss chips are in it?

Igt m modified to s+ it has a s+ mpu

By looking at you machine pic, I’m thinking the reel strips need to be indexed. The symbols don’t line up with the center line.

is there a certain pattern to line up or just where they join together

There are notches on both sides of the strips about an inch from the end of strip (about an inch above where they meet). There are a set of tits on the sides of the basket they line up with.

since your machine is a S+, get into the diagnostic test, go to the test where you have a 4 in the coins played window, then press the spin reel button, the reels should spin and land on the three jackpot symbols, the lowest and highest payouts will be displayed, each time you hit the spin reels button the next patout will be displayed. the symbols have to match the glass, the strips have notches on them, they go into a holding area on the inside of the reel track, it is a square piece of plastic that matches the notch cutout, usually a nub on the outside of the reel where this area is. the notch goes into the slot and aligned from there. check out the diagnostic flip cards in the second subject in the S+ section, these cards explain everything about the tests etc.
