Title: I think I bought the wrong keychip, help!
Post by: PlusEVGambler on October 08, 2020, 06:21:14 PM
New owner of an IGT Game King 6.2. I bought a keychip 40, but after trying and failing several times to get into the keychip menu (following http://newlifegames.com/nlg/index.php?topic=883.0 (http://newlifegames.com/nlg/index.php?topic=883.0)) it simply boots me out and restarts the machine after forcing me to choose a denom. So I'm guessing I bought the wrong one if all it lets me do is clear the ram? This is my board:

If I bought the wrong keychip, can anyone please tell me which one is the correct one for my machine? Thanks!

The pic shows a boot 39 chip.  So you don't need a keychip, it's built in.  Press in on the MPU self test button and then power on the machine.  After a couple of seconds the keychip menu should appear on the screen.
Key 40 is for older 3902 boards.

Thank you! I got in to the keychip menu and was able to change everything.

You're welcome.  Glad you got it setup the way wanted to. :applause:
