Hello all,
I did a key chip on my GameKing today and it had Blackjack before I did the key chip, after the key chip, clear etc... Blackjack was missing from the games I could load back on the machine. Any ideas, what did I miss?

Typically if you enable the higher denoms, you should be blackjack automatically. You can actually assign different games to different denominations, blackjack is probably disabled for the denoms you chose after your key/clear procedure.

I figured something like that might be going on but on the list of games it was not there to enable. I did a disable on all games then put them back one at a time, and enabled .05 .25.50 1.00 25.00 and 100.00. Still no option or mention of blackjack anywhere on any of the menus. I'm pretty sure its 5.3 because there are no video slots either. I'm also 100% sure it was there before I did the key on the machine.
Very odd, maybe I should just try it all over again.

What other games were on there? Did you have any slots? 5.3 is poker and blackjack with no slots. If you had slots then it could be 5.0 but I don't believe it had BJ
4.3 version has slots, poker, keno and BJ.
My other thought would be that when you go thru the screens to turn on the games and assign denominations, they are in categories and BJ being on its own you've either missed it in the mix of 31 games or its on another page(such as the last page) that you hadn't scrolled to.
Can you double check your game version? And let us know.

How is the best way on a Gameking to get that info such, which screen. I know I saw it on the old site but since we are in this thread and going I figure I would just ask again here.

It should be on the game chips, provided its original.

I believe the base chip and gme chips would have it. Does it ahve simm card as well?

It has a combination of SIMM and Eproms. I'll take a look in a bit and post it back.

If they are not labeled or maybe labeled wrong, the way to verify is to go into the accounting tab, and one of the tab reads something like program version or the like, it depends on the set, but it is found inside the accounting tab.

The base number G0002821 looks to be a GK 5.1, however i could be wrong. Heres a link to a dealer selling that machine and list all games included on that set. 46 poker, 3 keno no slots and no BJ.

Wow, OK, thats good to know but for some reason, some how there was blackjack on their prior to me doing the key and clear on it. Wonder if the clear reset something and now the option is just not there since this chip does not have it. Thats odd...

Hmm, according to IGT's literature there is no BJ in GK 5.1. Here's their promo lit. 26 poker games and 3 keno. According to all my reference materials, they all say:

Mike Without my trying to dig out a board with 5.3 on it, I'm going to wing these instruction's.
Press the test button on the MPU, on screen touch Setup, touch I think game options, you should now see a whole bunch of Red tabs and 12 Yellow tabs. ( THERE WILL BE MORE THAN ONE PAGE Black Jack will always be listed last on the last page. ) The Red tabs are the games you have on your software that are disabled, Yellow are the 12 enabled games you have. My guess is when you cleared and keyed the machine it went to the default settings and Black Jack was disabled.
If you do have BJ and it's disabled your going to have to clear and key the machine again. ( here's where some ass hole is going to post it doesn't have to be cleared again, and it doesn't ) After the clear and your now in key menu first set the accounting denom, the on that same page pick all the denoms you are wanting. Next touch Game Options you now are seeing all the red/yellow tabs. touch any of the yellow tabs and the page will change, you are now seeing all the different pay percentages for that one game, one of the tabs will be yellow, touch the yellow one and it will turn red and that one game will be disabled. I turn all 12 off and start over just make sure you have all games disabled on every denom you picked.
OK now this step is a pain in the ass but it works, first make a list of all the games you have on this set of software, then assign the denom you would like that game to play at. ( remember you can only have 12 games for each denom ) now in Game Options key menu set the 12 you picked for a nickel, they the 12 you picked for a quarter, same thing for the next denom and you will now be able to play every game, but at maybe a denom you don't like.

Buzz is wrong. Rick is right. Using the accounting screen for which you posted a screen shot, simply click the next button until you find Blackjack (or BJ). If it's not there, then you don't have it regardless of denom. I'm sure Buzz can get you a set with BJ on it.

Well all, last night I dug thru all the info you folks had sent me, dug thru all the eproms I had and ended up just sticking what I think is a 4.3 version back into the machine. It has pokers, bj, slots and keno and the double up feature I wanted. I'm thinking of purchasing the software to get to 6.0 or 6.2 and be done with it, will have most of the cool stuff that my platform will support. I'm thinking I should just keep this board as is, I think its 044 with the enhanced game king daughter board on it and maybe just buy a new daughterboard with the newer software on it, would make for an easier change or I guess I could get a whole new 044 board and make it real easy.
Buzz you are correct, setting up one of these with the 12 games per denomination and getting everything right is a real pain in the butt. That and I made the system TITO so there are a couple more tweaks but its now up and running and as far as I can tell everything is working.
Any guidance on the method to proceed to get to 6.0 or 6.2 would be greatly appreciated. I already have quotes for the software but not sure if that included any boards or just the chips/simms.

Buzz, I would never say you were wrong, I might think it but I would never vocalize it or put it in print :) I've got like three diff versions of software for this machine and I rekeyed and everything trying to find that version of BJ before switching back to 4.3. I know I'm getting old and my mind is going but the chip numbers don't lie and if they said my version of software was 5.1 then that must have been the case but seems I do remember the version that was on it had poker, bj and keno but no slots. The version I purchased a while back was 4.3 but lacked some of the screen detail like on Caveman Keno and the double up feature. I recently got a couple of other chips, diff jurisdiction I think that allowed the 4.3 to have the double up but the caveman keno still does not look as good as what was on my previous version that I can only guess was 5.1. I guess I was thinking it was 5.3 because of all the diff poker variations it had.
Anyway, if the budget will allow I'll look into moving to something a little newer that has some of the cool bells and whistles like the tabs etc...

Gameking 6.0 and 6.2 are flash board based games. You remove the legacy board from your MPU and put this flash board in it's place and you are done. You will need a different key chip (28) in order to setup your TITO and other key chip functions.
I may add that Super Star Poker has a bigger variety of games, including multi-hand poker, spin poker, a full version of wolf run, and Coyote Wild. Also Blackjack, Keno, and the typical poker games. In my opinion it is the ultimate gameking flash board hands down.

Save your :money: :money: :money: if you're planning on the one Rick showed...the Super Stars flash is around $600 last I checked. Very few vendors had it then, so not sure if availability has changed.
And no, that did not include the main board...

That is a sharp looking game. Expensive but you get a lot of bang for your buck. Is that your setup Rick? Does it have its own glass or do you use the basic gameking glass

I managed to get Super Star Poker not too long ago and I just have to say it's really awesome! :cool_thumb_up: I use red Game King glass with mine, even if I could find the Super Star glass I wouldn't use it.

I have the regular red gameking multi-games type glass. I really like it, and it gives the option of playing the multi-hand poker games which I've always liked.

It is definitely the best software for the 044 platform.
