Title: Thermal Printer not printing properly
Post by: bigdps on August 14, 2015, 11:26:19 AM
The original owner of my slot  had the printer disconnected since the ice age. I decided to reconnect it this week and when I print, there are spots missing in the characters. I have printed maybe 6 tickets so far and it is getting better. Is there a simple way to clean the thermal heads without any special tools or items? Think about MacGyver type of deal.... :24:

Little glass cleaner on a qtip works for me. Get cleaner that has no ammonia and make sure it's air dried before use. Your thermal ticket paper may be old also, but give cleaning it a try.

I just did the qtip thing and it improved beyond belief! And yes the paper does look old as well. Will have to get new paper for sure. Really love the help of this site. Thanks!

like to use a SUZOHAPP MAG STRIPE READER CLEANING CARD part no. 29-1009-30. If you let the printer grab it but bully it back out so it doesn't go all the way through and do that 4-5 times. I get crystal clear prints everytime.

Can someone post a picture of exactly which part of the printer they cleaned with a q-tip?  My printers are not very clear either and would like to clean them up a bit.
