Title: Bally 5500 Progressive
Post by: Barsnsevens on November 29, 2015, 03:15:15 PM
I have a Bally 5500. The progressive display recently stopped working and now reads C10 and $0.00 The battery in the controller only reads 1.5 volts. From what i have read I think i need a battery and reprogramming. Is anyone already setup with a cable and lap top willing to reprogram this if I send it to them. Thanks Mike

Mike,
How long was the machine turned off. Battery when good should hold about 3 weeks.
Rich you have a new battery yet? I would suggest going to a 2330 they are a little larger.

The machine was off a few weeks. Can I just solder in a new battery and the old settings are still there? That would be great! I swapped out the battery. Now I have C10 and C14  :Scratch-Head:

How much do they want. EBay has the larger ones for about $12 delivered. I think they list them as land rover key fob batteries only positive end will mount on the PC board the other just jumper.  I have been getting over a month of memory retention with the larger.
The unit will still need to be programmed that memory is lost.
