Title: HELP BOOT PROBLEM
Post by: bossx2 on December 18, 2015, 06:02:52 AM
I ran an ALL CLEAR CHIP on my board and when it boot up for the first time after the DALLAS ALL CLEAR it gave me a screen attached.   It said I needed a SET CHIP now????

I reboot another time and now its just stuck on the VXLOAD BOOT screen with blue background (for hours..).

Not sure if it helps with any guidance, but I replaced the batteries on the main board prior to doing so.

it was working perfectly before I did the all CLEAR...   I ran the all clear because I wanted to change the settings on the service menu.   I should have just left it.

I've not worked on Sigma machines, but did you have to run a CLEAR to change the menu settings you wanted to change? On many machines a CLEAR can be a pretty drastic step and shouldn't be done unless needed.

Yep, it sounds like you will need to locate a SET chip, then install it and do a setup. It would be best if you told us what machine you have, there are many different Sigma models.

In the meantime you can try reading all the discussion threads in the Sigma forum to gain additional info and hopefully someone here that knows about Sigma will offer advice.

Here is some info that might be helpful:

Good luck!

Hello and thanks for the reply.  It's a uv-1700 dpx-80.  I have the kiss slot.  I did hours if reading and did learn one thing... and that is apparently only a couple games require the set chip after clear chip.   I think Garfield and kiss are the two..  I've read a couple people having identical problems but they seem to not visit the board much.  I've searched but looks like the only place to get one is someone who already has one to sell or lend 😞  If u find any resources that would b much appreciated.   :I_agree_1:
