Title: V7200 lighting issue
Post by: Phan000 on January 20, 2021, 07:45:00 PM
Picked up a nice 7200 in good condition.

The door will not close cherry switch, but when manually pressed with door open, the game functions and bill
Validator accepts bills.

The green light on coin mech turns off however when cherry switch is pressed, and does not accept coins.

First,  how do I test or adjust cherry switch?

Second,  why would the coin mech turn off when all
Other functions are normal?

Thanks!

I haven't seen an V7200 in over 10 years. But maybe move the switch closer to the door? I might be the only one that thought that funny.

Turns out the guy I bought it from set the door as mechanical instead of optic.

Works perfectly, even without moving cherry switch ;)

Another small issue with this one-

The belly light blows the tubes immediately.  When installed, they get very bright for a moment, then power hum, and they burn out.

Would this be bad ballast, or starter?  Something else?

I keep a pack of these handy and install them on the mating surface of cherry switches to eliminate door open problems before they begin.  Easy to apply, and cheap.  Nothing like a bonus round going off and door opens.

Lighting issue was the ballast in the belly glass
