Title: Bally gamemaker
Post by: 61Wally on October 25, 2021, 10:49:12 PM
A Great evening to all. I’m still working on my Gamemaker V7000 “TRIPLE TROUBLE”. I have another issue I’ve noticed, the second board that I have, has no audio whatsoever. I know my speakers are good because of the first board working. I took the board off of the tray and noticed that someone must have used a blow torch to change out the volume potentiometer. The traces are gone and they’ve used jumper wire to try and complete the circuit. Well, this cluge didn’t work. I’ve tried to follow traces comparing to the other board and they appear correct. When I adjust the 1K pot the Resistance changes on a linear base. from center pin to each side. I don’t know if it’s supposed to be an “audio taper” pot instead of linear? Any suggestions, on future testing or does someone repair these boards? THANK YOU.

Pot is standard linear.  If you are sure the traces are all good, jumper wires are connecting all devices on both sides of the board?  And it still does not work, you may have an audio component that is bad. Schematics are in the file system download section for reference.  You can access those as you are a contributing member. See home page.

Not much there for the sound circuit - U51, U62A and U 61 plus a few caps and discrete devices.

I'm sure one of the vendors or a member repairs the boards.
