GM HD BillVal Stacker Open Alarm. Resolved
« on: August 05, 2021, 07:19:37 AM »
Hello All
I Have a Bally Game Maker HD Alpha M900
Replaced the battery on the processor.
Did a Clear, using a
AVOCLEAR0335-01

Operating system AVOA00000336-09
12/16/2010
Getting a
BillVal Stacker Open Alarm.

Tried a "new" cash can .
New transport from Spin Inc flashed for Bally
Replacement RS232 board.
Different Head

The pushbutton on the back of the cash can housing does toggle in test mode.
The door for the cash can compartment has the switch pushed in all the time.
I can pull the connector to the door and get a 1 in test mode.

Have tried a new rs232 board.
Different flashed for Bally Transport and different head. WBA 12.
Re seated the processor and the connectors on the backplane.
Have not seen this machine work.

I do measure 12 vdc to the Bill Validator.
Was wondering if the 12 volts does not have enough juice  from the  power supply located in the processor. Just doesn't have the bill validator cycling sound i am use to hearing...sounds weak.

I used a magic marker and marked the gears on the left n right side of the transport. I do not believe they are turning. I do not hear the cash can platform move up n down on start up, or when you re seat the unit. When you pull the cash can ,nothing happens when you put it back in , just when you pull the transport/head unit.

At a loss on what to check next. Was going to try using a external 12volt supply next, for the WBA

Solved:

Original WBA was bad
And then the new WBA , I picked up, had a bad programmed for Bally IC in it.
Will be calling on Monday and asking for a new chip.
