Had a 12 code so I changed the battery and put board back in, got the 61 code, pressed test button, ding and 61-1 code, closed door and turned reset key, the 61-1 goes out and a '0" flashes in winner paid window, then 61 comes back. I can press the test button and the 61 goes off but comes back on in a few seconds. I put a known good board in and got the same exact results. I then tried to do a clear but it doesn't seem to recognize the chip (I tried 2 different clear chips).
anyone had this problem?
thanks

Bob, you could have a bad mother board, the e squared chip could be bad. its the 8 pin chip, the only one on the board.

Bob,
Their is a small chip on the motherboard that goes bad and it will not allow you to get past the 61-1 code
It sounds like you have done it right and also that the 61-1 goes away and comes back tells me that the optics are working.
I hope I am wrong with this one

I pulled the motherboard and was thinking about changing it. It will be a few days before I can get back to it.
