What kind of battery do you have currently? A coin type I'm guessing?

What Westfield meant is you can buy the coin type at Walgreens or just about anywhere. You will not be able to buy the holder there though. You can reuse your holder you have now, just pop out the battery and put your new one in (+ side up).

Battery may be the solder-on type like this, with attached solder terminal.

The board probably has no battery holder, you might be able to add one so battery replacement down the road is easier.

3800 and 3900 series used same as S2000 500 series boards and the 044 boards used the slide in 2354, same as the S2000 1270 boards, I believe

More than likely you have the battery that rokgpsman pictured.  If so just remove the board from the tray and "unsolder" (is that a word) anyway carefully remove the two battery legs, you can then replace with one of these  (See below on ebay) and then just slide new battery into place.  Be careful to solder + and - in the right place.  These things are like 10 pieces for around 1 dollar.

I'd like to do this as well, but it looks like all my 3902 boards have BR2330 batteries.  Does anyone know of a U.S. source that sells BR2330 socket holders?  Thanks.

Many places have the coin-style battery holders, like ebay and electronic parts sellers. Here are two examples:

You will need to make sure about the dimensions of the battery holder so it is the same width and thickness as the battery you will be using. I believe the BR2330 battery is 23mm wide and 3mm thick. On coin style batteries the first 2 numbers are the width of the battery and the last 2 numbers are the thickness, with an implied decimal point between the last 2 numbers. BR2330 = 23 mm width and 3.0 mm thick.

Thanks rokgpsman!

Can anyone tell me if part number 104 is the one to be used for 3902 boards?

When I tried to describe what I was looking for to mouser, they sent me a link with 7 products to choose from.
