Title: WBA 13 SU Bally to WMS BB1 swap.....
Post by: FireballJackpot on January 09, 2024, 10:04:39 PM
Members,

I have a WBA 13 SU with an EPROM that says "WMS New $100 Ready 0ABC". Unit works perfect in a Bally A1. It's "slow" (With Green Motors), but still works.

I'm trying to install it in a WMS BB1 cabinet that had a UBA10 in it. (UBA10 went into my A1 and works fine and also worked fine in the BB1).

My WBA is "dead in the water" when installed in my BB1 cabinet. No motors, nada. LED1 and LED2 do come on - so it's getting power). DIP switches 1 and 8 are OFF. Put the WBA back in the Bally A1 and it works fine.

Is there different software that needs to be on the EPROM??  I don't see any jumpers on the WBA to swap (like on the UBA).

Please chime in on what I need to do so I can get my BB1 up and running with the WBA.

Thanks in advance!!!

The bally a1's used an RS-232 board installed on the left side of the validator, the bb1's do not need this board and needs to be removed.  You may also have to change some jumpers on the backplane.  Just search for bb1 validator jumpers, there are many threads about that subject here.
