Greetings.... can anyone tell me how to bypass the validator door sensor for the SG-300? The door is not open but it is giving the error on the led panel. I do not know if this indicates anything but when I unplug the bv door sensor I DO get a indicator light change on the numeric led on a small board behind the hopper. I have never done any work on a Sigma so I'm pretty much in the dark here.

A year later and it still hasn't healed itself. Anyone with any insight into bypassing the validator door sensor? Or does anyone have a known working they would like to sell?

Still needing any help on my bill val door open error

I think a lot of the NLG folks that may have Sigma experience haven't been as active lately. I don't know anything about Sigma unfortunately. If there are any slot repair places with experienced techs somewhere near you they might be able to help. I afraid that sometimes when you have something other than the mainstream machines like IGT and Bally you have less choices for help available.
In general, most of the time a security switch on a slot machine can be bypassed by disconnecting the 2 wires from the switch and twisting them together to make the connection, then insulate with a wire nut (or electricians tape). I don't know if that would apply with your bill validator switch problem, but if you haven't tried it I would. Look around your bill validator for a switch with 2 wires, the switch gets activated by closing or opening a door, or by installing or removing the cash storage box, or something similar. If you find a switch like that you remove the 2 wires and connect them together as described earlier.

It is possible that your machine has a bad board or needs some sort of a reset? I my self don't know any thing about the Sigma-300. You could check around your bill aceptors cash box for a switch, or just make sure that your machines cash box is seated..

Hi Mike,
I will take a look at my Sigmas today, and check out the BV door switch for you.
Did your machine work fine before this error, or has it not worked at all?

Thanks for the replies, the machine worked good until this. There is no switch that I can find for the bill validator and certainly not a door covering it. Behind the cash can there is the typical white push-button switch that works perfectly as if I remove the can all kinds of alarms sound. There is a magnetic switch on the cash can door and although no alarm goes off, the switch is working, testing with multi-meter continuity test. I am wondering if it isn't actually two errors, one being a problem with the BV although it seems to go through all the proper 'sounds' when cycling and one for a different door open switch.
I have been racking my brain on this, I am not unfamiliar with slots, have been selling/fixing for several years but like everyone else, they have been mostly IGT and a few Bally. That's why I am ready to just pay someone that knows Sigma and get it over with.
Will try anything that anyone can come up with!
Thanks

Ok, I took a look at my BV doors. and like you said, there is a magnetic switch for the door.
I assume you have jumped the 2 wires to bypass the magnetic switch to no avail.
I snapped a couple pics of the inside of mine, you can see if it looks similar to yours.
I don't see anything obvious on mine other than possibly a plug coming undone.
Wish I could be more help. These things are temperamental. Sometimes I will get errors on a machine, unplug & plug the connections on the mpu board, and the thing will fire right back up. Do you have a manual for your machine?Still needing any help on my bill val door open error

did you ever find a fix for your sigma bv door open error, im having the same problem
-
Ya, take the 4 wires coming from the can and door switches and cut them about 3" from the BV side board connector, strip the ends of those 4 wires from the side door and wire nut them together.

Sorry, no, never got it working, did you?

Hi, I kinda gave up on it, it has been in a storage unit for quite some time now, along with a few others. I will try what you said this weekend though and see. I would really like to get it going, we had customized it with graphics on the reel strips, and glass with things pertaining to our computer store. Has graphics made up for the glass took quite a while to figure out converting the pay table to match our products. Anyway, will let you know what I come up with. Thanks

I had got a SG300 treasure wheel in to the shop and that fix got rid of both BV switch errors. I was able to toss the cash can and have the money drop into the empty cavity.
