Title: monitor power issue
Post by: mr-monoxide on January 14, 2017, 07:17:06 AM
Hey guys I hope some of you may know an answer to a problem I'm having with the kristel monitor in my bb1. Most times when I turn on the machine the monitor display will remain blank like it has no signal. I've verified that the signal is present and that the monitor has power. I notice that the green light on the board is not lit when this happens and the only way I can get it to work is by removing the metal cover and physically unplug and reconnect the power connection several times until the green light comes on then everything is fine. Monitor display looks good and the touchscreen functions correctly. It will continue to work properly until I turn it off then I have to go through the same process again the next time I power up. Sometimes I only have to unplug and reconnect the power a couple times for it to work, other times I may have to do it a dozen or more. What could the problem be?

The inverter/ballast board inside the monitor is typically failing.

For the cost of the monitors you are usually better off replacing it.

Be aware there are both 18" and 19" monitors for BB1's and you will want to replace it with what you have so the bezel is the same.

Dang, I just bought that monitor from a vendor a couple months ago if that and it was supposed to have been "reconditioned". Oh well, it is what it is. Thanks for the reply.
