Fortune 1 disturbed monitor image and no blue
« on: July 08, 2021, 11:35:54 AM »
My fortune 1 image looks like this. I have tried with another known good monitor and it looks the same. I guess it has to be the main board. What can it be? Asking for help. Regards Erik Skei

I had a read through old repair logs to find common faults. I changed all electrolytic capasitors, but there is no different to the monitor. I replaced the 47ohm resistor to a new one with a gap above the pcb. I have meassured the RGB pot meters, but they are fine.

Now I have ordered a ned full wave rectifier bridge 6A to replace the old one. Also ordered the CAP-PROM B8 and the A11 IC. I hope one of those will be it. Will update when I get them.

On the back of the game board to the left of that big transformer there are 3 pots, simply put those adjust video and they all go bad. The common fix seems to be to replace those with set value resistors which makes the background a fixed green/blue. I sent my board into K-Lar in LV and they took care of that. They also found a few broken traces and a capacitor that was leaking. The game pays good now. You can probably replace those on your own if there are no other problems. Good luck.
