Can the battery be causing the error 5 tilt?

That's a Varta battery....is there another one?
It looks like it's snowing on top of this one.
-
Is This is batt I have to replace
GB50H-3, 3-51FT-A, 3/V60R, 3/V70H, 3/V80H, 80BVHx3-SU3P NiMH 3.6V 80mAh Battery https://www.amazon.com/dp/B013RT139C/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_apa_i_LxWnEbYS8J3PG (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B013RT139C/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_apa_i_LxWnEbYS8J3PG)

Not sure if another one just saw this one exploded figured it was the battery to replace
-
ok...hey look at Reply#5, do you see how small the writing is? What are typing from....a phone? :scratch-head_2:
Trying to determine what is causing small fonts to happen. :scratch-head_3:
-
Yes phone copy paste
-
Wish you members would use COMPUTERS and not tiny ass phones that cause tiny ass font, as well as sideways photos caused by the metadata. :talktothehand: :Tongue_Out:
Font in the reply is fixed.
-
:agreepost:
Your MPU pictures aren't too clear...I cannot read the writing on your chips.
If you see a black chip that says Dallas on it, there is a battery inside of it.
There's a mod on NLG on how to rig up an outside battery source to maintain the RAM contents in the memory chip under the battery.
-
Ordered the 3/v60r from Amazon
-
Okay..I hope that fixes your battery error but in reply#2, the last picture on the bottom, there's a big circle with the letters [B1] etched onto the board. "B" usually means "battery".
That circle might be a location point or a battery but I'm NOT certain if it's needed or not because the circle is on a "piggyback" board.
-
I hope the Varta batt fixes error 12
The "B1" board would not be fun to work on
-
I pulled out mpu took better pictures
Found some numbers underneath the board hopefully it will help finding the series this is M or S.. :waving_flag: .
-
B1 Circle Batt is a clean connection there was never a battery on it

I'd be checking the circuit traces around that Varta battery...it looks very corroded.

10-4 will do when replacing batt

Is there a metal tag on the side of the machine where the handle is located? what information is on it?
Jim
-
No tag inside
-
The only thing I can see for sure is that some part was built on March of 1986?
I'd be Googling what machines IGT came out in what year...
-
I've been all over Google no luck
The list I have found not my model..
Thanks for help..
Did find # on upper glass...shows "86" year of machine

IGT came out with a player tracking system in 1984 that was installed in the video poker machines.
I know yours isn't a poker machine but is the player tracking harness still inside?
It may have a tag on it with some numbers with a plastic printed sleeve over some of the wiring.
I'm just wondering if it's one of the original ones.
-
I'll check it out
Where should cable be?
By door?
-
oh that's okay...it was probably replaced by a newer system before you got it ripped out.
Would have been in the top box area.
Your machine is probably this one in the link>>>

I'm going to say it is a straight "S" model because it definitely is NOT an "S+" nor an "M" machine.
I know this because the "M" model had a the reels come out as one in a set of three and the "S+" does not have wires going to the MPU like yours.
Yours came out after the "M" and before the "S+".
-
I believe it is an S model to but early version the link shows volume pictures next to the hopper I cannot control my volume
-
There's a blue colored potentiometer dial....fool around with that to adjust the volume.
Because it's just a cheap resistance dial, the volume can be somewhat unstable in adjustment.
Each one is different in how it reacts to minor adjustments when rotating it.

Found the IGT stamp on mpu
1986 made in A " Australia?"
All I can see Is the A
-
I don't know if IGT had an Australian manufacturing plant in 1986 yet...or if ever.
I'd have to Google that.
