Title: Bluebird 1 NV Load Failure
Post by: keystone9 on January 29, 2017, 03:58:14 PM
After installing new batteries and ram clearing on a BB1 and after installing the OS card and booting up, the game locks up at "NV Load Failure. The game was up and running before installing fresh batteries.  Thanks in advance for any ideas why this is happening.

Make sure you have the MPU tightly seated.  Do you have another game that you can test with?  Does the RAM clear complete the process and tell you to power down the machine?

Thanks,
Jason

I did what you said and re seated the MPU. Same problem. I have another game to test with. Ram clear completes. Thanks. Bill.

Screen says NV Ram may be corrupted. At that point the game locks up.

Non-volatile random-access memory (NVRAM) error

Unplug the machine before doing anything.

Double check the batteries or install known good ones if you have them, make sure your polarity is correct.

Sounds like the machine is not seeing the new batteries.

You will need to do a full ram clear and set everything up after pulling the batteries.

I got the battery issue fixed. The batteries were not making good contact in the battery holders. I cleaned up the holders and installed the batteries and checked the voltage on the back of the board. 3.3 V. Now when doing a Ram clear the game locks up at Clearing eeprom. ?

Reseat everything and try the clear again.

Yeah, if you don't have success the first time just use a bigger hammer   :24:

It was a DFO issue after all   :24: :24:
