You might adjust your 'L' stop bracket at back bottom right side of reel mech. Move it back just a whisker. If you're good with pliers a slight bend unless you want to loosen the 2 bolts.
Also reel hubs have an oil hole in them as well as an adjusting 'clutch'.
Try a drop or so a time til the needle bearings are loosened up.

I would check the reel kicker assembly for sluggish movement. Also check the third reel contact wiper to see if it's moving freely. Easies way to test is to compare the malfunctioning assembly with the first or second reel assembly. Most likely there will be a noticeable difference. Also check the ratchet wheel assembly on the third reel linkage for solidified lubericant.

Had that happen on 2 slot machines already, Pulled out reel mech and did the manual handle pull to watch the action.  I found the return arms had dry grease hindering the return  of wiper arms so I de-greased, oiled all the linkage and adjusted the 3rd reel variator to it shortest length. Cleaned the wiper boards and very lightly applied oil after with my finger tip and it now snaps backs nicely now. NLG group has taught me many things which I hope to share with slot newbies like myself!
