Title: CEI 904 Video Poker
Post by: Ronbo on November 15, 2009, 09:12:45 PM
Hi; I think my CEI video poker machine is going to need work. About one out of ten times when it's paying off the screen goes blue and there's a little question mark in the middle of the screen. Does anyone have a schematic and manual for this? I checked the submit file and nothing there at this time. Has anyone ever seen this?

It's been lone time but on the 904 /903 board a Question mark on the screen was a EPROM error. I would try reseating the Program Chips and check the sockets: some of the older boards had cheap single wipe sockets.

Thanks Doyson!! I will reseat them and if needed replace the sockets. I was starting to worry that the PROMs might be failing. When I bought the machine it came with 25 years worth of dust and crud inside. Do you by chance know where I can get a copy of the manual? I would like to play around with programming and see what some of the switches do. Thanks Again for your insight, it's priceless

Hi Ronbo,
The "Submit a new file" section above used to have a CEI manual in there...that's how I learned about mine. Since it disappeared, I will re-upload it tonight for you to download.
[MODERATOR’s NOTE: The current location for posting large documents such as these is Downloads, accessed by pressing the NLG File System button]
I know what you mean about years worth of crud. When I got mine a couple of months back, it was nicotine and dust smothered. I spent weeks cleaning the inner walls, monitor, wiring, board, hopper, door...everything. Now it shines like a new penny and the smell is gone. Look at the fan on the side of the cabinet...ultra yuck!!!
Anyway, good luck with your machine. Put up some photos! I posted mine up in this board too. It seems to be a rare machine, and us CEI guys need to stick together.
Jason

Thanks Jason. I downloaded the manual and will continue to PLAY!!! I do enjoy working on and playing this machine. Thanks again, I'm still in the middle of getting it cleaned out when I'm done I'll post the pictures.
