Title: Draw poker yellow screen
Post by: newkid3 on July 12, 2016, 09:10:38 AM
Hello, i have a draw poker that the cards where light purple. We changed the video chip C5346A at location 036 thinking that might have been the problem. after that the whole screen is yellow. We put a socket and a new chip in there. You can see the cards white and 25 cent. I will try to put a pic up. Does anyone know what this could be? Thanks

Check the connection of the 6 wire plug on the back edge of the board. It's next to the black and white power plug. I have seen that 6 pin plug to cause the colors to be off by bad connections. Usually I've seen a red or blue screen. That 6 pin plug runs to the plug under the chassis where the cabinet wire plug connects. You could also have a bad solder joint on your chassis at one of the 3 color cards. I don't have a chassis in front of me to give you the exact location. The 6 wire plug has a red, green, blue, purple, yellow, grey? I believe.. The Ceronix plug is for the Video input connection. The paper I found says its connection 006.

Thanks Amechanic, i checked that plug and wires. They seem to be fine. I checked continuity on all those wires also. Do you have any more ideas for me to try?

I also checked all 3 color cards for bad solder. Went ahead and put a little new on. Still have the dreaded yellow screen.

Makes me wonder if you could have a bad CRT? One of the color guns could be bad? Have you checked the pins on the neck to make sure none have broken loose? Could possiblie be the video receiver board on the necks bad.

We checked the crt yesterday and rejuvenated it. It is in good shape. We will check your other suggestions as soon as we can. It is possible it might be tuesday now. I will report back as soon as we can check. Thanks
