Title: Paypal-Can't give my money away
Post by: 89chevyman on October 12, 2016, 11:43:55 PM

Okay have a strange encounter with a vendor on/off ebay. Does ANYONE know a Brandon Farnsworth at "golden_supply" out of Houston, Tx? ??? Was sent a Paypal invoice, but no matter which payment option I use, it won't go through. Tried sending email to the site on the invoice, no reply :Scratch-Head: :Scratch-Head:  Got the money to give, but no one wants to take it. How often does that happen? ??? ? Anybody else ever run into this problem with Paypal.

Ran into that problem once when the other party set up an account but didn't link a bank account to their paypal.  Never would go through, ended up using his sister's.

I had the same issue paying for an auction once.  No matter which credit card I used, it wouldn't go through.  I sent paypal funds from another account and then paid their invoice using the paypal funds that I had just sent over from the other account and it worked.

The issue is ... (as I have this same problem with my PayPal account)... that PayPal blocks payments via credit card to a vendor that they have labeled as "in the gaming industry".  Been on the phone with them multiple times about this with customers not able to process payment.  Their answer is "as a credit card processor it is our duty to protect the card companies from potentially illegal transactions".  And my reply is baloney....I switched to Square and have never had a problem processing any credit card payment...so the truth is the CC companies don't care as long as it not a payment towards an online gaming site.  It is PayPal's legal department that does not want the additional liability.  The only way you will get PayPal to process payment on this will be if you make payment via a PayPal credit balance or making a direct payment transfer from your linked checking account.
