Title: Need help on a dead WBA-12-SS
Post by: Bomackey on November 08, 2016, 05:58:12 PM
I have I-game that is running the 12-SS, not sure of the version, someone put a X across the sticker and put another stick er with 213.20 on it. the validator  will not light up, or take a bill. the only lights on are on the right side of the board if you are facing the machine. I can remove the cash box and reinstall, and the validator will go thru its normal cycle. I have used the same cashbox and installed the validator from my other I-game, and It lights up and works as it should. where do I start as far as trying to trouble shoot ? I did go ahead and open it up and cleaned all of the sensors with a q-tip and alcohol/ammonia free camera lens cleaner. as always, any info is greatly appreciated.

OK additional info, I took the dead DBV and put in my other machine. it took the first bill i tried, but didn't give me credit for it, the next few bills I tried would go in, and stay for about 3 seconds and then push back out. I tried that with about 4-5 bills, then it stopped lighting up and trying to take them, and hasn't tried to light up or do anything since

all of your dip switches are in the up position on the transport?  maybe as simple as a crc mismatch clear.

thanks Kforeman, all switches are in the correct position, and I had cleared the CRC clear, But I did some swapping, i used the validator head that wasn't working, and the transport from the working on, and swapped them, now both of them are working. I dont know how long it will continue, but for right now I am good

to test these units you can do the following:  keep in mind you are only testing the unit for functionality.  this doesn't tell what IDO it is programmed for.

you will use the machine for a power source only!  remove the cash can from the machine, place dips 1-2-3 & 8  in the off position(down)  now insert the unit into the machine, power on the machine, the two small LEDS should be on (next to the dip switches)  now flip switch 8 up, unit should cycle briefly,  now you can insert bills into the unit, if they go through they will be deposited into the cash can area,  this will tell you what bills it will take (give you some sort of idea of the latest bills it will accept)  if this test works then the unit is doing what it is supposed to do,  you can insert bills all day long in this configuration. AGAIN, doesn't tell what IDO it is set for,  just if it will accept bills.

hope this helps
