Title: Gold Touch Master Lock?
Post by: AtomicBomb on February 22, 2017, 09:04:30 PM
Greetings NLG. Apologies for the noobishness of messed up posts or posts in wrong topics.  Trying to learn the boards here.  Anyway, I've been an arcade game/pin collector for nearly a decade, but this is my first slot.  Unfortunately after a sucessful boot, I get a master lock error about 5 seconds later.  Not really sure what this means.  I found a reference to it in the " Sphinx" menu with "Master Lock = 12/01/15".  Not really sure what that means either. Anybody have any input for me?  Thanks.

What company is the manufacturer and what is the model? Is there an id plate on the side?

I'm guessing this is the data plate you're asking about

yes that's the id plate, the photo of it might help someone here to identify the machine and how to best give advice.

Is there a chance this is not a stand-alone gaming device, but instead is a gaming terminal made to operate by being connected to a remote server?  Just a thought...

Also, are there 2 threads on this same topic? I saw another one that looked similar, a little confusing.

Yes, I did post first in the welcome thread.  It had mentioned Tech in the topic description, then I later figured out I should probably post here. Sorry for the duplicate.  I don't think this is a terminal as you postulated.  I saw someone posted a similar board operating as a standalone here: http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=24807.0 (http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=24807.0)

There's also one on ebay under auction 282368204050

I'm noticing that as this board sits running for a while, it has a tendency to lock up.  There's an LED on the board that lights when I tap the screen, but it has no effect.  Neither of the menu switches works either.  Graphics will continue to move on screen though.  Weird issue.  So new plan... Assuming this board is toast, can somone recommend a good repair shop that won't cost an arm and a leg or a good replacement board that will interface with the touch screen, color LED screen above the monitor, and serial printer, while hopefully not be too expensive?  Don't need anything super new or crazy as it'll just go in my game room.
