Title: Accidentally did a factory reset on my Alpha 2 Pro
Post by: Border01 on July 01, 2017, 06:41:54 AM
I ended up performing a factory reset when I was doing a game change on my V22/32. My machine is a 2016 and does not require an OS card. I use a clear, than install card and game card. Now I can't load anything. Hoping someone can help

It says Error boot device other than first compact flash or disk. System halted

You need an BIOS/OS bundle cf card which will install the os and all other game manager software.  It gets installed same way as a game with the same install card.

Do you remember what BIOS/OS combination you have.  If you get a newer one, you may need to flash to a newer bios (which is included in the OS/BIOS Bundle card), which involves a jumper on the mpu.

I'm not sure what I had. I'm guessing it was current because the machine was manufactured in 2016. Do you know what I should get?

When I loaded grease pink ladies awhile ago I took a picture of the screen it says bios 231326C. OS366E. Not sure if that's part of the game or not?  Sorry I'm very limited on my knowledge

You need the OS366E Bundle then, although any os newer than 366E will also work.  Who did you buy the machine from, I'm sure they can set you up.

If you did a factory restore on your Alpha 2, then all you need is to reinstall the OS. If you have OS 366E card all you have to do is reinstall the OS by putting your install card in the top slot and the OS card on the bottom. Install. Should install OS and the other files it needs. I had to do this when swapping a Hard drive or the time a game got corrupted by an error on my part. Doing a Factory restore should not mess with the BIOS.

Thanks Charles, I have an OS card on the way, hoping all goes well when I install it.
