Hello all! I am getting this machine for $40. The current owner says the machine powers on and the lights come on and that's about it. What do you think cold be wrong with it? Thanks you in advance! :thank_you:
-
It's not out of gas, looks like he filled it. First thing I'd look at is the cmos battery on the MPU

:rotfl:
And when you start fiddling with it, WATCH your feet of you open that lower door. It will fall straight down and try to break a toe or two!
My foot hurt for days...

:24: :24: :24: :24: :24: That was a good one! But you think its worth it for a $40? worth a shot right...
-
Ot's heavy as hell to move, but yeah, for $40 you could scrap it and make your money back easy or just throw it out and not feel to bad
-
Did the seller ever say if it worked or not before? If it did then mostly I would think the battery on the MPU needs to be changed. Hopefully there is no acid damage to the MPU board if the battery's been dead for a long time, but if you have the room and a strong back, it's worth the $40.00.. Keep us posted...

Sounds good everyone! Ill pick it up tomorrow and have a look at it!
-
That looks exactly like my first slot!!
Started me off on a long, enjoyable, and expensive hobby!!!
Check for the coin in the compairator. :Scratch-Head:
Enjoy.

$40 is a good buy ... cheaper than a GYM membership as it will be a chore to move.
When you get it - lets look at the coin in / winner paid for error codes and we can go from there.
This team will get it working !!
-
Lets hope it actually came with a MPU board.
Reminds me of a $40 Game Maker with no MPU board or bill validator or coin in assembly or hopper.
But the monitor worked. Well worth the money spent getting it up and running.

Bring a good dolly and either a hydraulic lift cart or three men. They weigh a ton!

Alright! Got the machine! Looks nice. I changed out the battery on the bored. Cleared that code. Now I get a 61 code. Tried clearing it a bunch of times. It keeps on coming up still. What should I do?
-
Did you already follow the procedure fore going to 61-1, etc, etc? If so then clear it with a clear chip and then enable the BV again.
-
You have to have the belly door in also.
-
Where does one get a clear chip? Yes I went through the whole procedure many times. Always goes back to 0 and the 61.
-
Contact one of the vendors on the home page or member RB, he usually has the chips people need
-
And this is a S Plus machine correct? Lol
-
Yep
-
Is there any option out there to convert the machine to a TITO? Instead of the coins.
-
Not for the S+
-
UPDATE! I should be getting the clear chip set in today! Here is the update. Cleaned her up! Looks nice now!
-
Looks nice. It's amazing how much crap comes off one. You should invest in a set of nice white buttons. Get some off a S2000, they swap out exactly. I pulled the front bumper off mine. It was full of spilled drinks etc.
-
I did a reconditioning on the leather. Looks a lot better then it did. My towels were BLACK! Any one have a set of buttons for sale? :drool04:
-
There should be a "catch cup" inside the machine that allowed spilled drinks a place to drain into. Do you see it? If you don't see a plastic cup, look for a small holder and fabricate one to fit in.

I removed the one from inside my game. It was nasty. The drain tube and other items were gross.
Contact Ken at Ohio Gaming or Jim atidWest slots. Both will have 5 button sets at a reasonable price. Just let them know what you Button say. The main one is your max bet or bet 2/3 button. The other 4 should be the same, bet 1, service or change, spin and cash out. Get rid of those yellow looking buttons.
-
I was wondering why there was a nasty cup looking thing at the bottom of the machine when i got it... hahaha. And the buttons will be the next swap! :agreepost:

To all watching this thread, time to carry it on in the S+ topic area where it belongs. There are problems and solutions coming out that could be helpful in the future so it's time to start a new topic in that forum to address those issues. Original post was solved long ago...
