Title: Bally 5500 hopper error
Post by: bikerman883 on January 26, 2018, 05:47:17 PM
hoping someone can help me out with this. I picked up a bally 5500 blazing 7’s, It was dead when I got it, chip u3 had mangled legs and two were broken. I was able to solder a couple new ones and straighten the others out. I got the machine up and running now but have a hopper 31 error. I inspected the hopper and no jams. The green light is flashing and the forward and reverse buttons do nothing. I have 25 volts going to the motor but it is fluctuating from 25 to 0 and back. I am stumped at this point.

It's possible that your machines power supply is failing. Check the connection on it..

There is a constant 25v at the plug.so not sure if it’s the board on the hopper.the hopper makes no noise or movement at all, I have been able to turn the star in the bottom

You could have a bad hopper control board. You might want to contact Klar. They are a repair company out of Las Vegas that does repair work on the slot machine circuit boards. You can find them on the home page here at the top of the page. Great company to deal with.

Ok, I got the hopper to turn and would with the forward and reverse buttons. Now I have no errors, machine has two dots now in the win paid and a zero in the coin in window and the credit window, does accept coins or bills
