Title: Meters on a 742a money honey
Post by: Rpowell18 on August 23, 2020, 03:52:02 PM
I have just finished the restore on my money honey ..there were no meters installed..I found meters for it and while trying to get the meters installed there were no wires for it to wire up to ..the hopper connector is not connected for the coin out and no connection for the coin in ..there is no evidence that there were any meters ever installed..Does anybody know if there were any 742a without meters..thanks

how many meters (if any) was one of the differences between the hundreds of variations model 742a.  I'd have guessed that almost all of them had at least a "total out" meter pulsed by a payout counter arm switch.  Wire 65-1.

what is the full model number on your plate below the handle.  Model number is on top, serial number is under it.

This is an interesting question that I'd like to know the answer to.  The previous generation games did not have meters but times were changing.  I can't imagine games not having meters for the benefit of the taxing authorities (as well as internal control of the operator).

742a-277 "money gusher" or "jillions of jackpots" was made for Honest Don (there's an Honest John in the list too ... oops?).  It left the factory with "paper tape" on the reels.  I assume HD put on their own.

below are the only two pieces of documentation I have.  The index disc doc isn't very useful unless you are missing a reel tape, and neither will answer what meter(s) the game originally had.

your game used p-484-[475,476,477]

Some of the games that were sold for home use by Ancient Slots in Las Vegas stripped off everything that was not needed, including all counters, candle and coin box switch on the lower left side of the door. It would not surprise me if they also removed much of the wiring associated with the three counters.
