I love the 550 machines but i would never imagine buying this upgrade for 1600 when you can pretty much buy a full BB for that amount.

That's alright, I noticed a guy on eBay today is trying to sell IGT AVP license dongles for $1000.00 each and you can buy a complete machine from a member here with the license dongle for $1500.00. Whatever you can get people to pay I guess...

Woldwide gaming tends to be high on the prices for everything. There are situations where buying the board is cheaper, if you have a machine in say europe, it would cost you a whole lot more to have the thing freighted over than to buy this board. That being said, I've seen a lot of these boards for around $750 or so. I bought mine when they were in "high demand" and it was like $1,200 back about 5 years ago.

You have a valid point on outside the country. I haven't had any dealings with worldwide gaming but i have noticed their prices which is why I probably havent. I do recall the time when those boards were over a grand then it seemed when the prices starting coming down, they disappeared for a while.
I see some pop up from time to time but never recall 1600.
One thing about ebay, there always seems to be a buyer.
