Title: 044 programming?
Post by: 61Wally on August 04, 2022, 07:18:22 AM
I’m trying to setup an 044 board that is acting very strange. When I ago into the key chip functions, The touch screen acts like it’s out of alignment. It’s a “Wild  Orchid” board  and it doesn’t matter what machine that I put the board in, it does the same thing the touch emblems on the screen are so far off, I can’t get the denomination’s programmed. I’ve tried 4 machines, same thing. If I put the other games in No problem. ANY IDEAS?

Have you tried calibrating the touchscreen?  Turn the reset key two or three times until you get to the touchscreen calibration menu then touch the dots like it says.

If EVERY thing is different except same flashboard I would try reflashing it.

Could it be a corrupt GKDBEV39 chip? I had 5 of these machines given to me and this is one of three that came up with that “SHA” or something like that flash board needs replacing. On the other 2, I changed out the chip with the DBEV39, and they work great. If that chip is corrupt, Would it be advisable to remove one of them that’s working and try it in this board, or is the board itself the issue? I don’t want to take a functioning board and possibly destroy another chip. I sent a picture of what was in it. This chip was the same one in All 3 that gave me the flash board error, after I replaced batteries and tried to key chip.
I tried doing the calibration on all the machines, still had the same results.

Yes I would try a dev39 in the flashboard giving the problems.  I would put one in all flashboards for the fast boot if nothing else.  If that doesn't help - get it reflashed.

Thank You So Much for your help. Do You know anyone that does the reflashing or is it easier/cheaper to purchase a new board. I’m going to put those chips in All these 044’s. So much better than waiting for them to load and to program
