I have one of these.  Had 5 of them and kept one that I have had for years.  I have some documentation around somewhere here and will help if I can.  Does your top dice spin and dot-matrix light up?.  Most of my problems derived from the mpu or a bad dice opto etc.  These are still fun games.  I have not turned mine on in about 6-months but it always fires up.

The dot matrixs dose not light up.

when i first turn it on the top dice spin then stop...

one of them keeps spinning and never stops..

The one that keeps spinning has a opto/comm problem.  Look at closely and examine it.  These are fragile.  It has to see the dice (all) on boot up.  I May have a few spares that I kept for my game if this is the case.  I think a few other members here also have some of these or knowledge of them as well.  You will like this game when you get it going.  The game was ahead of it's time in my opinion and a collector peice as it was Michohn trying their hand at slots which was short-lived but actually a sigma machine!.

Will do.  From my memory you have to unbolt/nut the white fascia  assembley to pull the dice set up out then you can examine the back of them.  Look for small plastic parts also laying in that area.  I have not been feeling well here lately so getting ready to rest for the evening.  Will look at this more when I am able if you don't get it figured out.  B.

I did find my cd-rom on sg-300 and it is just basic and also found here in the downloads files.  There is nothing specific for the yahtzee top box stuff in print.  I can tell you that I have another one at my mother in laws that has sat/been there for 5- years.  It quirks at times.  Have to unplug the tray,re-seat,plug back up and it goes.  I will dig mine out of the corner soon and compare (It is baired).  These always were problamatic but once you know what it wants it is not much of a issue.  Check your dotmatrix also as it will not come on line as well if it does not see it.

orderd the orignal battery for the main board.. should have that next week also..

Does your machine have the 88 board?
If I remember correctly, they will work just fine without the battery on the board.
I have a couple of those boards with no batteries on them.
I have some treasure tunnel, treasure wheel machines. Like sizzler said, mine sit for quite a while but always fire up. once in a while I will get an error. I just unplug and re-plug in the connectors on the board,
and that usually fixes the problem.
Good luck with your machine!

I received the MPU battery the other day. just havent put it on yet.. Im still waiting for the IC battery for the top board. it should be here next week.

my MPU board shows SG 88M-2
120002 REV A

by messing with the IC battery in the top board it get the bottom LCD next to the coin in and credits to work,

It now say bounce error and one of the dice at top keeps spinning, when i pull that IC battery out the tio dice stop spinning and now i get bill validator error,,, so i orderd a IC battery thinking that might be one of the issuses im having with it.

when i turn the reset key it goes away then it reads good luck and the reels keep spinning and stopping.

so i hope that IC battery helps me out.

ok. here is a update.

got ic battery.

no change... still have one dice at the top that keep spinning...

i have swaped optics around and it dose not change on that one... so i know

the optics are good on it...

i have pluged and unpluged all connecters a couple times...

now i have no lcd by the coin in and win lcd..

when i first tun it on the reels will do a test spin and the top dotmatriix comes on and goes through a cycle...

thats all it dose,,

do you have to do some type of ram clear????

if so how do you do a ram clear???

Hi, there is a RAM clear you can do no parts needed.
With machine off
1-turn and hold reset key in the on positon
2-hold down test button
3-turn on power switch while holding test button on and reset key on... hold for 30 seconds.

In your display it will read RAM clear.

Here's a link to a free manual from Rudys deals.
http://rudysdeals.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=390&search=sigma+ (http://rudysdeals.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=390&search=sigma+)

It's got tons of info!

it say in both manuals i have that you need a set of clear chips to clear ram...

i just need to find out where to get them..

i need to find out why my lcd is blank...''

i had it working once and now i cant get it back working..

just for the fun of it i replaced the battery again on the mpu.

i checked voltage going to the mpu. is all corect just like the manual says..

5v 12v and 24v.

stumped....

guess it could be a bad mpu board or cable..

It is going to be awful weather here for most of the weekend.  I am going to pull my yahtzee out and compare.  The ribbon cables are crucial and the correct placement of them.  The other members post about the clear is correct, I remember doing it.  Will try and help,  Just been limited on time.  I need to dig mine out, fire up hopefully and compare good to bad (not working).  Been a long time since I did these!.

If you read in the manual section 2-11 second paragraph tells how to do the RAM clear, but it's pretty much how I said.
Hope things work out for ya!

If you read in the manual section 8-81 it tells you that you need chips also..

i dont know..

i tryed your way and nothing...

I looked into that, the section your reading is for a machine that is set with special jurisdiction requirements.
If your machine is has an "02" on the GAL chip then you'll need the clear chips.
Look at the diagram on the page and that should help you find out if you indeed have one of those machines.

Just a quick question.. Have you check your voltages from your power supply?

Gary
Title: Re: SG-300 YAHTZEE slot
Post by: drfreeze1739 on December 07, 2014, 06:20:36 PM
yes i have checked all 3 power supplys..

they are all good voltage.

i checked them also on the plug going to the board.

im geting 12v 24v 5v.
Title: Re: SG-300 YAHTZEE slot
Post by: Amechanic on December 07, 2014, 06:58:46 PM
Ok it was just a thought.. I know that some if these power supply's can drop one of the voltages, like the 5v and that could cause your display not to power up.

Yea I think it has to do with power some where or a short some where...starting unplugging cables off the board. And got a 0 in the coin in lcd when I unplugged the big ribbon cable that goes to the door board. Will keep looking more into the plugs.. and connection

Ok. Now I think my issue is that I need to find out how to get that one dice up top to stop spinning.it stopped once last night and I got it to play once until I restarted the machine.still no blue lcd... Mabey that is burnt out. I had all lcd working once.. any suggestions  I could try would be great. Going to test power supply under load and see if it Is dropping voltage. I think it's dropping voltage. Because it dose more with the bill validator unpluged...  with it unpluged I can get the reels to set when I close the door...

On the top inside boards and all other boards, did you reseat all the chips on the boards? Even the square chip with pins on all four sides.

I just got all three of  sg-150+ games working, and sounded like a similar problem.
The were stuck in a check mode on start up, I shade to turn off dip switch 4 and 10.
I would check and see if your dip switch that checks for the hard meter is turned on, if it is turn it off.
Fixed my games and might be worth a try.

No I didn't check all chips. Just the game chips. I will reset all the chips I can when I get home later. Thank you sunrise. And mustang I will check dip switches adan. I just set them my the manual last night. On the dip what switch block because there is 2 of them sw1 and sw2.

Unfortunately I've already sold all my sigmas. And gave the guy my manual too, but I think it was switches 1-4 and 2-10 I think.
It should say in your manual.
Look for the hard meter check and turn if off, I think 2-10.
