Title: Bally Alpha 2 V20/26
Post by: Fixit on March 10, 2016, 09:08:40 AM
Hello,

I have some Alpha slant V20/26 and im having door issue. On 2 of them I can not get door (s) not (S) to close. I know door (S) is staker. In the menu it says door (s) is spare door, but can not get it to cose. Even went as far as to make a door harness to bypass all the doors and still it shows door (s) open. Plugged my harness into another game and it closes it. I know what pin it is on the backplane but just dont know why it will not close. Board? BackPlane? Software? Any help would be great thank you.

I would guess backplane.  You can swap backplanes pretty easily on alpha 1's.  Takes me like 10 minutes if I do it carefully.

Rick,

I just finished doing that with a known good backplane. I also tried the board in different cabinets and it follows the board. I'm thinking it is the board. Never seen this issue on an Alpha 1. Could there be a bad component on the board? Are there known issues with Alpha 2 boards?

I have never seen that either, but I suppose it''s entirely possible since you are experiencing it.
