Title: Bally 6000
Post by: laziter on April 18, 2016, 06:40:37 AM
Hi...Have a Bally black and white 5500 i think though it could be a 6000. Hard to tell when its not on it. Problem is it all seems to work fine only the coin passes right through into the coin box but is not picked up by the machine. Comparitor light is on as well as the optics board light. is there some settings I might have to change? Pseudo works perfect and all reels spin etc.
Thanks

Sean

Try a new coin in your comparitor. Then let us know if that helped.

Nope...tried several coins but same thing. It even rejects wrong coins so that still works. I can't figure it out. It flashes insert coin. All lights work. Two decimel points appear in coin in window...along with the zero's of course. Does this mean anything? Thanks.

Is there a coin switch on the MPU? Is it in the up position? Have you tried turning the sensitivity on the coin mech fully CCW?

Coin switch is up. I will try the sensitivity and let you know.

If the coin is passing through the comparator, not getting rejected to the coin tray, passing through the coin optics and going to the hopper, then the signal from the optics to the MPU would be my guess. The machine should error on coin in jam or coin in error if the optics aren't working correctly. Have you checked wire harness integrity from the comparator back to the MPU? Cleaned and checked the optics for operation?

Cowboy hit the nail on the head . I should have clarified coin box as hopper.  The coin optics has sensors on the circuit board that get dirty, the holes in the coin guide get plugged which the sensors see through, and the prism gets dirty . Disassemble your entire optics and clean with dampened cloth of water only.
