Title: Bally V7200 Sound issues
Post by: Haywire Slots on May 18, 2016, 11:28:37 AM
Have a Bally V7200 Cash Encounters machine, the game plays fine, have reel spin & payout sounds, but there is no sound during any of the bonus rounds. I checked the setup menu & could not find any way to enable them.
     Thank you.

Dedicated Gamemaker games like Cash Encounters have separate deluxe sound board and additional sound chips. Also if your machine has the deluxe board and sound eproms, there is a dip switch on the MPU that should be activated.

That pic is your MPU and the red dip switch banks on the left side are what I am talking about. Below is taken from a past post. The deluxe sound board is not attached to the MPU and my be on the side of the cabinet. I looked but cant find a pic of the deluxe sound board.

"If you have an 8Mb sound chip for the game, it goes in the add on sound board (if you have one). Make sure that the sound card is connected to a speaker (Tongue Out). Turn DIPSW2 SW2 on to use the deluxe sound card."

Thank you for the help, I flipped Dipsw 2 sw2 on & had no sound at all. I found the sound board behind the bill validator, plugged the speaker wire from that board into the speaker & it is now up & running properly.
It sounds like I have the wrong sound chip on my sound board though. Instead of mooing cows & spaceship sounds it has underwater sound effects & Caribbean music lol.

Glad you got it working. Sounds like you got the sound eproms for Hot, Hot, Hot on the deluxe sound board. FWIW, if you make your gamemaker a multi-game format, just turn off the dip for the sound card. It will not give you anything using multi-game and you will then get the legacy sounds. Of course you will have to change the speaker plug again.
