Title: Bally V1337 Letter Graphics Scrambled - Board Issue Help
Post by: danatlvc on June 25, 2016, 12:39:57 PM
I have a V1337 Draw Poker machine that I recently purchased to have for spare parts for another one that I have that needed a sound board. The boards worked fine for about an hour & then in the middle of paying out a full house the screen went scrambled. The machine had not been used for 8 years or so when I purchased it.  I've changed out every CAP on the boards & have visually checked the boards & all chips gave a reading in my Chipmax & all were reseated in the boards etc with no luck. It's in the boards somewhere because the board stack does the same thing installed in my other V1337 with a different monitor etc. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated

These early Bally boards chip sockets were garbage. The connections were just one side of the chips legs. I have found buy replacing the ones for the graphics, game chips, ram, etc., that a lot if the problems were resolved. I've hear of people using a cold freeze spray on the boards to find bad connection. Take a flash light and inspect your chip sockets for damaged connections..
