Title: Fireball button?
Post by: mr-monoxide on June 08, 2023, 02:05:38 PM
I was digging around in my spare parts the other day and came across something I'd picked up a while back, a Bally fireball button and the board that goes with it that plugs into the USB on the CPU. My question is what is that button for? What is its application? I have done some research and have not been able to find any information on what that button was actually used for or what game it was used in. The button is like the big oval button that comes in the standard 11 button panel but it has a digital readout that can show a text message of some sort. I have installed it before and it functions as a normal button would but I get an error code on the display screen in the button. I'd like to use it if I can. Does anyone have any information on this?

It was used to display the top progressives on the button. I dont think this was used that much except for a few games. Never actually seen it in a Fireball cab, but remember seeing it in a game called Golden Monkey Save N win. Maybe Power strike as well? Maybe load those games and see what happens. If nothing maybe it only worked a WAP games.

Ok, that's some good info there. Thank you. I'll try it with those games and see what the result is. I wonder if it's automatic or if there's some sort of set up or programming that has to be done? I guess I'll find out but at least I now know what its purpose is. Thanks again.
