eraserheadd on pinside.

i'm still stuck on the slot thing - as i'm learning what's what.
not even sure i want one at this juncture, but it is being contemplated actively....

we have parties over here (70'ish ppl) - pre covid... and i like having new surprises for my guest(s)... a slot seemed like an interesting idea....

kinda glad i ran Ethernet all over my gameroom... one of em is FINALLY gonna get used.
Nice! Plenty of info here about machines. Just be careful and don't overpay for stuff. Check here and you'll get solid advice.

I'll hunt you down on Pinside and keep an eye out for sales.. Ha. - I'm Harvs there too.

Cheers

My collection isnt as impressive as some on here but each one is special and has its own story.

Williams Firepower- Paid $200 for amachine that would light up but not play. Reseated all the PROMS and cables and it worked fine. Needed a good cleaning and I added a repo backglass. Looks and plays fantastic today.

Gottlieb Incredible Hulk- Paid $25 for it. Would no start at all. Fuses blown. Found several Drivers blown on IO board and the main board had some acid damage. Cleaned up the board and added an off board battery. Works good. Cleaned and touched up the playfield. Backglass is a 10. Game worksand plays great today.

Data East Lethal Weapon 3 - This game was given to me by a friend from work. It was in his basement and he didnt know how to fix it. He knew I could repair it and I did. It needed a couple drivers and triacs on the IOboard and some work under the playfield. It also needed a plastics set. It works and plays excellent.

Gottlieb Big Top EM - Was going to be another free machine but I gave the guy $100. It plays but needs some work. I have had it for a few years but havent started the restoration. It will need cabinet paint touch up and a complete inspection, cleaning and adjustment of everything under the playfield and in the back box. Very unique game. It does not give free games, only extra balls. You can rack up as many as 5 extra balls. It was designed this way because a couple states did not allow free games to be awarded.

MAME Machine. This is my arcade. I got it for free. It is built from an actual Moon Patrol arcade game. The cabinet has been repainted back to original, a two player custom control console added and the screen is a 24" LCD monitor. I made a custom front bezel that says Mame Patrol using the original Moon Patrol graphics. It has over 4000 playable games and gets a lot of use.

My collection is rounded out with a Bally E2000 slot. This has been my problem child as many of the E series slot owners can understand. It plays but is tempermental. I paid $200 for it 20 or so years ago. It is my main project right now. Cosmetically it is great.

The idiots doing my move refused to take the legs off the pinball, They were bringing it up the stairs at a weird angle. Then one of the idiots stumbled - kicked a size 11 hole into the wall at the top of the stars, dropped it and the unit fell back onto the bottom guy who fell back down to the landing - machine in tow and also kicked a hole in the wall - I am surprised that he didn't go through the wall.

The back back glass broke. I was practically in tears as I know backglass is the heart of the machine.  The movers started on me saying that they should not have been asked to move it and I should have hired a specialty company. Nothing like taking ownership eh ? If that was the case the guy that came in to give me a quote should have said something, had they followed my advice and removed the legs it also would not have happened.

its a Williams diner that had translight, and while it was not ripped it was pretty badly scratched up.
Insurance covered the damage and I was able to get a repo back glass which is 100x better than translight albeit not the original.
I really like the mirrored finish of the backglass now.
