Title: NLG being externally censored?
Post by: Hertz14 on January 11, 2021, 11:24:59 AM
Hi all, just wanted to report- (Maybe it’s just me)

I’ve been part of this forum for a while, never had any issues, and do a lot of browsing/posting  on my phone. Just recently, my Sprint service changed over to T-Mobile and using my cell data, the NLG site is being blocked.

I don’t know if this is a fluke, but I’d thought I’d raise a flag to see if others have been affected. I have no web content blocking on my account.

Depending on how you are connecting to the internet might a difference .. I live in the f'n boonies and when I take my wife into town to Walmart they block it because NLG is considered gaming/gambling.

It also could be your anti-virus program or some security setting.  This is not a "secure site", the address does not start with https:, it starts with http: which could cause you to get blocked.  Not sure what the cost would be for NLG to make this site "secure".

EDIT: WOW.  I just added the "s" to the addy in my brouser and it kept it.  Maybe that's all you need to do??

Well this is on my personal cell phone, data plan. I am the admin on my account so I shouldn’t be restricted on my access. I called T-Mobile, and even they said it shouldn’t be blocked. I have a ticket open now. Just seeing if anyone else has the issues.

I have T-Mobile and do not have any issues accessing the site on my phone.

The only place I've had an issue accessing NLG is at work where the word "Games" is enough for the site to trigger the work firewall.

I have a Sprint Mobile Hotspot that now shows T-mobile when I visit Speedtest.net.  No problems accessing NLG with it.  Using it now as a matter of fact.

Well it’s sounding like it’s more of a confined issue. I get that some places have special firewall restrictions, but it shouldn’t happen directly from my phone carrier.

The issues started right after I upgraded My SIM card to T-Mobile.

Glad to hear it’s not happening to anyone else. You never know these days....

Also make sure you are going to HTTPS:// and not HTTP:// when visiting this site, Joey should probably just redirect to HTTPS since HTTP is considered insecure these days.

My take on it.

I’ve had this site bookmarked for a long time. It’s fixed now. It appears since I’m a crossover from the Sprint acquisition, that the accounts don’t completely transfer over correctly. My web settings were correct on the Sprint side but not on the T-Mobile side. Only took them 8 days to figure it out.
