Behind the reels is an RCU board, try reseating all the reels and reseating the reel harness into the back plane. Also check and make sure you have USB coming from the RCU board to the MPU. Maybe something came loose?

I have the same machine. One time I got the error, "Mechanical Reels Not Configured" and "Mechanical Reels Device Error". The problem turned out to be the 'Reel Driver Optic Board' (P/N AS-03356-0527) on one of the reel assemblies. I pulled the reel giving me the problem and looked at the traces on the circuit board. They were burned. Replacing the board corrected the problem. You may or may not have this same problem, but it can cause this error message. Also, I have had USB cables go bad. Twice, simply replacing a USB cable fixed a problem.

Eandjamusements Did you ever get your Bally fixed of these errors? I'm fixing to tackle these same two errors on my machine. I got mine going, it turned out to be the Stepper Reel Controller and a loose connector to the reel board.
