Title: Coin mechanism removed question

So I bought this 17" IGT Game King and the coin slot was covered up. Looks like the casino removed it. There are some left over components in the door (see attached). I have no desire to bring back coins as I have a bill validator that is working just fine.
My question, is it safe to remove the left over components? If so, how should I proceed so I don't mess up the machine operation?
